Our History
Catholic Charities North Dakota began in 1923 as the Catholic Welfare Bureau in Fargo. Founded to serve vulnerable populations, the organization has grown and evolved while remaining steadfast in its mission.
Over the decades, we have been known as Catholic Family Service and today as Catholic Charities North Dakota. While our name has changed, our commitment has not. We continue to provide adoption services, counseling, guardianship, and crisis response to individuals and families throughout the state.
Our history is one of faith in action, responding to the needs of each generation with compassion and professional care.
