PPAS Social Worker: Bismarck Office

Catholic Charities North Dakota’s PPAS (Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Services) has been facilitating infant adoption and placing children into permanent homes since 1923. We are dedicated to serving both adoptive parents and birthparents. The Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Services program specializes in five types of adoption and CCND is looking for an experienced Social Worker with a passion to be a part of this process. We are currently hiring for a Full Time worker located anywhere in the State of North Dakota. This will be a remote position with travel throughout the state.

Job Function:
Provide casework to clients of pregnancy service. Provide ND infant adoption, inter-country adoption, out-of-state adoption and identified adoption services to children, birth parents, pre-adoptive and adoptive parents. Provide search and disclosure services to birth parents, adopted adults and siblings.

Mandatory Qualifications/Certification:
MSW or BSW and licensure in North Dakota. MSW preferred.
Two years of social service experience.
Values compatible with those of the Agency.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel.

GSV Support Staff performs clerical and administrative work of a confidential nature under the direction of the GSV Director in accordance with established policies and procedures. Will assist program staff within the GSV Program to provide financial support for the services related to the individuals served.  Will work in accordance with and uphold the goals and mission of Catholic Charities North Dakota.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Maintain electronic case files by scanning and archiving documents.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail; monitor and purchase office supplies as needed.
  • Prepare letters, records, memos, reports, and other documents using computer software.
  • Enter individual data and ongoing case notes into the Agency’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system based on work completed.
  • Direct phone calls to appropriate staff members.
  • File documents in the EHR and permanent financial files; retrieve digital or physical records as needed.
  • Electronically file monthly and yearly court reports and other required legal documents.
  • Review and archive closed case records for the GSV Program.
  • Distribute annual provider and client surveys each March under the direction of the GSV Director.
  • Support the maintenance of the GSV Contacts list.
  • Perform administrative, secretarial, and clerical tasks related to agency operations.
  • Operate office equipment including computers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, and dictation devices.
  • Complete financial work as assigned by GSV workers using a planned budget. 
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or annual financial work as it relates to the GSV program. 
  • Set up and manage permanent financial case files.
  • Perform data entry and export tasks using the QuickBooks financial application.
  • Handle monthly client bill pay budget and financial transactions including writing checks, making deposits, and setting up ACH payments.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements for GSV representative payee accounts.
  • Manage True Link debit cards and maintain a secure spreadsheet of individual bank debit cardholder information.
  • Assist GSV staff with financial reporting, including Annual reports, Guardianship reports and Social Security representative payee documentation.
  • Actively participate in the Agency’s Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) process.
    Respond appropriately to cultural differences within the Agency’s service population and staff.
  • Build positive relationships and collaborate with clients, families, and community partners.
  • Demonstrate values aligned with those of Catholic Charities North Dakota.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the GSV Director or Lead GSV Support Worker.

Mandatory Qualifications/Certification:

  • Applicants will have a minimum of a 2-year degree in a business-related field plus experience working with financial information.  
  • Able to type 60 wpm and ability to operate office equipment. 
  • Capable of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Organized, efficient, detailed-oriented.
  • The ability to prioritize work under pressure and to perform services for various staff.
  • Ability to observe the confidential requirements of the Agency and to maintain the philosophy of the Agency.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and new directions of the Agency. 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license; some travel required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in business or accounting related field
  • QuickBooks – Accounting 
  • Microsoft Office 
  • Transcribing experience
