Congratulations to Donna Byzewski, this year’s winner of the Sister Donna Jean Chaput Award presented by Linda Jaeger at the recent North Dakota Conference of Social Welfare! Donna is the Guardianship Director for Catholic Charities North Dakota’s Guardianship Services which currently serves as guardian for 476 adults with intellectual disabilities. Donna has inspired our staff and our clients to continue to reach their highest level of independence and growth ever.
Donna is an exceptional leader, empowering others and encouraging those around her. She leads with a truly genuine heart and always a listening ear. Her caring and compassion for her staff and those served makes her a one of a kind leader that I am honored to call my Boss, Mentor and Friend. Catholic Charities North Dakota has a guardianship program with standards unlike any other all because of Donna’s years of knowledge, experience, high personal and professional standards in which our program follows.
Working for a faith-based organization, Donna’s spiritual values remain very important to her and to all she does through her work. Her spirituality helps guide her in the best possible decision-making for our clients and staff handling many challenging situations daily. Her spirituality guides and strengthens her delivery of services in so many ways. Her leadership is like no other and her expertise with guardianship and intellectual disabilities has her sought out by other professionals statewide for guidance and support. I continue to learn something new from Donna each and every day and value her vast knowledge and expertise in this field.
