Catherine Johnson, LPCC, NCC

Director of Counseling

Catherine received her Master’s degree in Counseling from the North Dakota State University in 2001. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in North Dakota and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Catherine has 10+ years of counseling experience. Since graduate school, she has provided individual, couple, group and family therapy in a variety of settings such as a community mental health centers, intensive day treatment settings, residential treatment centerand intensive in-home therapy.  Currently, along with program supervision and development, she is providing individual, couple and family therapy at Catholic Charities North Dakota. Catherine is married to Timothy (for 11 years) and has two children.   In her free time she enjoys time with her family, playing with the family pets (which include 1 cat and 3 dogs), camping, reading, going for walks, listening to music and watching movies.

Jennifer Anderson, MSW, LICSW

Clinicial Therapist

Jennifer Anderson, MSW, LICSW is a Clinical Therapist who works with individuals, couples, families, and groups with mental illness and addictions. She received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Dakota and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jennifer has more than seventeen years’ experience working with adults, children, couples, and families. “My therapeutic approach is of a holistic matter which is seeing my clients as individuals with unique experiences from their past to what brings them to obtain help at Catholic Charities North Dakota.” Jennifer’s area of research includes the psychosocial aspects post bariatric surgery including cross addiction. Jennifer’s clinical interests include: mood disorders, anxiety disorders, addictions, eating disorders, pre and post bariatric surgery, personality disorders, PTSD, and trauma. She is writing her first book entitled, “Butterfly Girl”. When not working with clients and their families at Catholic Charities, she enjoys walking, yoga, meditation, writing, reading, the arts, the outdoors, and enjoying time with her family and friends.

Marjorie Baumgartner-Hill, MA, LPCC, LMFT

Clinicial Therapist

Marjorie Baumgartner-Hill received her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from the University of North Dakota. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).  She has over 25 years of experience in working with children, adolescents and adults.  She admires the courage of those who seek therapy.  “It is a privilege to be part of the process of facilitating hope and healing to those who are struggling with the challenges of life.”  Marjorie welcomes children, teens, adults and couples into the counseling process.  She enjoys working with people in their efforts to make better life choices, to better manage stress in their lives and to develop more effective and healthier communication and interpersonal relationship skills.  She believes that when we work from our strengths we make the most progress in meeting our goals.  Marjorie has presented workshops addressing issues related to stress management, communications, and family living.  She is the mother of five adult children and enjoys anytime she can spend with her grandchildren.  Marjorie enjoys brisk walking and talking with her friends, sewing, reading and spending as much time experiencing the glories of nature.

Barb Boesl, MEd, LAPC 

Clinical Therapist

Barb received her Masters degree in Education and Clinical counseling from NDSU. She also has a BA in psychology, with a minor in Child Development, received from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. She has been a school counselor at St. Alphonsus Elementary School. Barb and her husband, Paul, live in Langdon with their two sons, where she is on the Langdon Daycare Board as well as a member of the Friendship Star Quilters Guild.

Barb provides individual, marital, and family counseling at St. Alphonsus School at 209 10thAve. in Langdon. Counseling services at Catholic Charities North Dakota are available to people of all faith denominations.
