Caholic Charities North Dakota

Helping those affected by the 2009 Floods across North Dakota

During this time of flooding and flood recovery, Catholic Charities North Dakota is staying true to our mission of protecting the poor and vulnerable. We will be there to assist those in need as they move through the recovery process

How is Catholic Charities North Dakota helping?

* Emergency Flood Assistance - Helping those with immediate needs for food, shelter, transportation, medication, clothing, household essentials, and clean-up due to flooding

* Recruiting Volunteers - Recruiting volunteers from Parishes to assist with sandbag removal and clean-up efforts. You can get a group together and make a difference in a flood stricken community.

* Working with Parishes to identify those who will need help with recovery so that we can help our neighbors return to normalcy.

* Working with other voluntary agencies to provide Case Management to ensure the long-term recovery of our citizens and communities.

* Providing mental health services to those coping with the affects of the floods and aftermath

For any of these services, please contact us (link to chardy@catholiccharitiesnd.org) or call your nearest office.

How can you help?

* Organize an effort in your church to get volunteers together and call Colleen at the Fargo Catholic Charities North Dakota office at 701-235-4457 or by email and let us know so that we can connect you to the voluntary center in your community and provide t-shirts/hats for volunteers.

* Donate goods - Do you have large quantities of items that can be used in flood cleanup or recovery? Examples include shovels, rakes, gloves. Call 211 for information on how you can donate those items.

* Donate to the Flood Recovery Fund.
