Who may Search?

  • An adopted adult who is 18 years of age or older.
  • A genetic parent who terminated parental rights to a child and that child has reached twenty-one years of age.
  • Birth siblings after the adopted individual are 21 years old.

The written consent of both the adult sibling and any living genetic parent of the adopted individual is required for release of identifying information to a birth sibling.

  • Initiate the identified search.

The individual contacted has the right to have direct or indirect contact or may decline contact.

If the search request is declined, your social worker will attempt to answer questions and provide support.
