Who may Search?

▷    An adopted adult who is 18 years of age or older.

▷    A genetic parent who terminated parental rights to a child and that child has reached twenty-one years of age.

▷    Birth siblings after the adopted individual is 21 years old.

The written consent of both the adult sibling and any living genetic parent of the adopted individual is required for release of identifying information to a birth sibling.

▷    begin this process by providing information and assistance in understanding and completing the necessary paperwork.

▷    provide you with non-identifying information about the person for whom you search.

▷    initiate the identified search

The individual contacted has the right to have direct contact (phone calls, letter) or may decline contact. If the search request is declined, your social worker will attempt to answer questions and provide support.
